STAY HEALTHY, EAT RIGHT
Swimming Demands a lot from an athlete's body. It is important to stay healthy and eat right to provide your body with the nutrients it needs to perform. Does this mean giving up all of your favorite foods just for broccoli and beets? Absolutely not! Eating right means making good food decisions not only before and after you swim, but during the rest of the week as well. There's always room for your favorite foods, but try them on a less regular basis. Check out these nutrition tips for swimmers:

- First things first...EAT BREAKFAST! Sounds simple, right? But often we wake up late or roll out of bed right before we have to leave the house from swim practice (I would know, I used to do it too!) But this important meal provides you with the energy you need to start your day and perform daily activities.
- Have easy-to-grab snacks available for times when you are in a hurry or when you don't feel like preparing a big snack. Try staying away from high-sugar foods and shoot for foods that provide more nutritional value.
- Stay Hydrated. Did you know your body is made up of 60-70% water? So it makes sense that you need to make sure you are drinking enough water. If you choose a sports drink, try to stick with drinks lower in sugar and only about 16-20 ounces.
